Over the past two decades, the country experienced an increase in extreme weather events with huge socio -economic implications. These events are projected to become only more frequent and intense in the future. In 2018, the country prepared the NDC operational plan, which informed the first approach of the national NDC. This document was presented at the 2018 United Nations Climate Summit (COP), but was not formally submitted to convection. This alignment made the conclusion of the NDC conditional on the completion of the gas inventory component and mitigation measures that should have been included in the three. There could be no NDC or Biennial Update Report (BUR) without the gas inventory component completed. In its updated NDC, Mozambique commits to a series of mitigation actions that aim to achieve a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by about 40 million tCO2 equivalent between 2020 and 2025. These estimates will be updated with the results of the Biennial Update Report to be available in 2022. Mozambique submitted its updated NDC in 2021. The updated NDC aims to reduce emissions by approximately 40 million tCO2eq from 2020 to 2025. The updated NDC covers energy, forestry, biodiversity, agriculture and fisheries, sustainable land use, waste management, industry, early warning systems, water resources and sanitation, health, social security, infrastructure, urban areas, settlements, tourism, coastal zones, communication, and education. The estimated cost of NDC implementation is approximately USD 7.58 billion for both adaptation and mitigation actions. Mozambique has initiated the process of preparing its LT -LEDS laying out the country's emission pathway up to 2050. The current review process is meant to provide a pathway for final submission of the revised document in October 2025, prior to th</narrative></description><participating-org ref="GB-CHC-202918" role="3" type="21"><narrative>Oxfam GB</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="" role="1" type="60"><narrative>Oxfam Donor(s)</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="" role="4" type="21"><narrative>Oxfam Partner(s)</narrative></participating-org><activity-status code="2"/><activity-date iso-date="2024-12-01" type="2"><narrative>start-actual</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2025-11-30" type="3"><narrative>end-planned</narrative></activity-date><contact-info type="1"><organisation><narrative>Oxfam GB</narrative></organisation><department><narrative>Supporter Relations</narrative></department><person-name><narrative>Supporter Relations</narrative></person-name><telephone>+44 (0) 1865 47 3727</telephone><email>enquiries@oxfam.org.uk</email><website>http://www.oxfam.org.uk/</website><website>http://policy-practice.oxfam.org.uk/</website><mailing-address><narrative>Oxfam House, John Smith Drive, Oxford, OX4 2JY</narrative></mailing-address></contact-info><recipient-country code="MZ"><narrative>Mozambique</narrative></recipient-country><recipient-region code=""/><sector code="4" percentage="100" vocabulary="99"><narrative>Right to be Heard</narrative></sector><transaction><transaction-type code="1"/><transaction-date iso-date="2025-06-30"/><value value-date="2025-06-30">5000</value><description><narrative>Income Spent April 2025 - June 2025</narrative></description><provider-org provider-activity-id="" ref=""><narrative>Oxfam Donor(s)</narrative></provider-org><receiver-org ref="GB-CHC-202918"><narrative>Oxfam GB</narrative></receiver-org></transaction><transaction><transaction-type code="3"/><transaction-date iso-date="2025-06-30"/><value value-date="2025-06-30">5000</value><description><narrative>Disbursement April 2025 - June 2025</narrative></description><provider-org ref="GB-CHC-202918"><narrative>Oxfam GB</narrative></provider-org><receiver-org ref=""><narrative>Oxfam Partner(s)</narrative></receiver-org></transaction></iati-activity><iati-activity default-currency="GBP" last-updated-datetime="2025-03-07T11:47:59" xml:lang="en"><iati-identifier>GB-CHC-202918-RPSA27</iati-identifier><reporting-org ref="GB-CHC-202918" type="21"><narrative>Oxfam GB</narrative></reporting-org><title><narrative>Start Fund Mozambique Response to Cyclone Freddy - PA contribution</narrative></title><description type="1"><narrative>Oxfam and Kukumbi intend to support vulnerable communities to prepare for, respond to and build resilience to Tropical Storm Freddy and other after effects such as waterborne diseases with this donation through the provision of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Non Food Item (NFI) to vulnerable community members, rehabilitation/protecting water points such as wells and springs, promoting community training in hygiene and preparedness, training community health workers in hygiene, gender, protection and providing WASH kits and food assistance to 500 families and dignity kits to 250 women and girls of reproductive age, including tools to collect and store water for affected communities to promote personal and household hygiene. The other action that will be considered is the installation of hand wash stations in accommodation centres and in places where there are more people; all of which will help to prevent the spread of cholera outbreaks and other WASH -related illnesses. Oxfam and Kukumbi will assess the functionality and quality of water sources in communities affected by the floods to determine the level of repair and disinfection measures, respectively. This will be done at water facilities in target communities. A gender and protection analysis will be carried out to support the design of response strategies that effectively address the needs of girls, boys, women and men affected by the crisis; ensure that our programming integrates, mitigates and responds to gender -based violence. This will be done through gender and protection awareness campaigns and support for protection frameworks to keep up with the changes. Activities related to communication for greater visibility of project impacts will be considered.</narrative></description><participating-org ref="GB-CHC-202918" role="3" type="21"><narrative>Oxfam GB</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="" role="1" type="21"><narrative>START-Network</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="GB-CHC-202918" role="4" type="21"><narrative>Oxfam GB</narrative></participating-org><activity-status code="3"/><activity-date iso-date="2023-03-22" type="2"><narrative>start-actual</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2023-05-05" type="4"><narrative>end-actual</narrative></activity-date><contact-info type="1"><organisation><narrative>Oxfam GB</narrative></organisation><department><narrative>Supporter Relations</narrative></department><person-name><narrative>Supporter Relations</narrative></person-name><telephone>+44 (0) 1865 47 3727</telephone><email>enquiries@oxfam.org.uk</email><website>http://www.oxfam.org.uk/</website><website>http://policy-practice.oxfam.org.uk/</website><mailing-address><narrative>Oxfam House, John Smith Drive, Oxford, OX4 2JY</narrative></mailing-address></contact-info><recipient-country code="MZ"><narrative>Mozambique</narrative></recipient-country><recipient-region code=""/><sector code="1" percentage="50" vocabulary="99"><narrative>A Sustainable Livelihood</narrative></sector><sector code="3" percentage="40" vocabulary="99"><narrative>Life and Security</narrative></sector><sector code="5" percentage="10" vocabulary="99"><narrative>Right to Equity: Gender and Diversity</narrative></sector><budget type="2"><period-start iso-date="2023-03-22"/><period-end iso-date="2023-05-05"/><value value-date="2023-04-01">96135</value></budget><transaction><transaction-type code="1"/><transaction-date iso-date="2023-06-30"/><value value-date="2023-06-30">96135</value><description><narrative>Income Spent April 2023 - June 2023</narrative></description><provider-org provider-activity-id="" ref=""><narrative>START-Network</narrative></provider-org><receiver-org ref="GB-CHC-202918"><narrative>Oxfam GB</narrative></receiver-org></transaction><transaction><transaction-type code="4"/><transaction-date iso-date="2023-06-30"/><value value-date="2023-06-30">96135</value><description><narrative>Expenditure April 2023 - June 2023</narrative></description><provider-org ref="GB-CHC-202918"/><receiver-org ref="GB-CHC-202918"/></transaction></iati-activity></iati-activities>
