These beneficiaries will be selected from the "Mission Armenia" Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) refugee caseload. Mission Armenia, a local NGO in Armenia and the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) implementing partner organisation, has currently been assisting more than 5,000 refugees from Syria among the estimated 12,000 refugee population, who are extremely vulnerable and need urgent humanitarian assistance to meet their basic needs. The targeted caseload consists of different age and gender groups including the elderly, young people, children and adults. The gender breakdown is approximately 52% women and girls, and 48% men and boys. They are residing in 8 provinces across Armenia, including Yerevan, Ararat, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Aragatsotn, Lori, Shirak and Armavir. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to mitigating the humanitarian situation of the most vulnerable Syrian refugees in Armenia, displaced as a result of the Syria crisis through addressing the immediate housing and psycho -social needs of up to 110 extremely vulnerable refugee households in Armenia displaced from Syria The specific objective of the project is: To address the immediate housing through rent subsidy, cash and non -cash assistance and provision of vital services. The project is expected to have the following results: 1. Up to 110 refugee households are supported with rent subsidies to access safe housing 2. OxYGen's financial position will be significantly strengthened, as the rental costs are approximately 20% of current purchase prices per year in Yerevan at present. OxYGen viability, the critical constitutionality is to own office accommodation in Yerevan. Owning premises has been identified as one of the main preconditions for successful operation of local foundations by successful spin off organisations. Lack of own premises significantly harms the financial viability of OxYGen. OxYGen will have own office space which corresponds to the minimum space/ condition requirements.
